Description
The GROUND-MED project has developed and assessed an innovative system of geothermal heat pumps in eight pilot locations around Europe (France; Romania; Portugal; Slovenia; Barcelona and Valencia, Spain; Italy and Greece). The initiative includes research, demonstration and monitoring, dissemination, and project management activities.
The GROUND-MED consortium is comprised of twenty-four European organisations and includes a broad array of actors from the geothermal energy world. For example, research institutes, universities, heat pump installers, national and European industrial associations, energy consultants, employment agencies and an information centre.
Objectives
- Demonstrate the exceptional performance of geothermal heating and cooling systems in locations with different weather conditions.
