Open source platform and services to boost the deep energy renovation market for buildings in Europe.
Project description
The ReLIFE project aims to improve the accessibility of data in the EU construction sector, providing easily usable data and resources for financial institutions and other stakeholders. It does this by developing an open-source and user-friendly platform that acts as a comprehensive repository and knowledge hub, offering economic, financial, forecasting and technical information on the EU building stock. This platform will promote the exchange of data between different actors, including banks, energy service companies (ESCOs) and building owners, thus reducing information asymmetry. The ultimate goal is to increase the deep renovation rates of buildings in the EU, with a special focus on the residential sector, to move towards a more sustainable and efficient future.
Ecoserveis participation
Ecoserveis leads the work focused on the design of the Financial Service, including an initial market study to generate knowledge about possible market opportunities.
Objectives
The project aims to unlock data accessibility in the EU construction sector, making data and resources ready for use by financial institutions and other stakeholders. To achieve this, the project has the following specific objectives:
- Develop methodologies that make data collection and structuring more robust.
- Help improve access to building data for the different target agents.
- Develop, implement and deploy approaches that use measured data and integrated data collection/processing for Energy Efficiency Certificates (EECs) with the aim of:
a) improve the accuracy and reliability of CEE and/or
b) increase the adoption of CEE in the market. - Develop, connect and integrate tools and platforms that contribute to the coordination and harmonization of data models, methodologies and standards for the energy performance of buildings.
- Develop services that use real energy consumption data, measured savings and the flexibility of active buildings, and explore the contribution of these buildings to the efficiency and stability of the energy system.
