Description
SMART-UP is a project developed in 5 European countries funded through the H2020 program that aims to promote energy savings in households in energy poverty, through the use of smart meters and energy monitors. It includes training for installers, social workers and other agents in contact with vulnerable users.
Ecoserveis participation
Ecoserveis coordinates the Smart-Up project in Spain. We are managing a pilot test involving 1,800 homes, 60 of which have been equipped with a smart monitor. The data collected through these devices allows us to analyze the impact of monitoring on changing user habits. Specifically, the monitors allow us to check the energy use of each appliance, real-time consumption and overall energy use per day and hour.
Objectives
- Train vulnerable people with energy saving tools and bill reduction.
- Change the habits of energy users so that they reduce their electricity bill by at least 10%.
- Transmit training to installers, workers and social agents so that they can inform vulnerable users.
Results achieved
- 1870 Vulnerable households advised
- 60 Homes monitored during the study
- 107 trained energy advisors
- 60% of participants improve their understanding of electricity
- 80% of participants implement actions to reduce energy expenditure
