Description
The Power Generation (POWGEN) project is an initiative focused on addressing the challenges of migrant labour integration in the renewable energy and energy rehabilitation sectors. Through close collaboration with public administrations, integration professionals and companies in the sectors, POWGEN’s main objective is to develop specific training programs for migrants, with the aim of improving their skills and increasing their employability.
During the duration of the project, 5 pilots will be carried out in Spain, Germany, Portugal and Italy, involving companies in the sector in each country. These pilots will not only offer employment opportunities for the participants, but will also serve as a platform to share good practices, lessons learned and experiences between the different actors involved.
To achieve these objectives, POWGEN aims to influence local and European policies to promote a more inclusive work environment, facilitate the recognition of migrants’ qualifications in these sectors, while raising awareness in society about the importance of migrant integration and the benefits of an inclusive work environment.
POWGEN aims to contribute to achieving the European Union’s energy and climate targets for 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050, as set out in the EU Green Deal. By designing specialised training in renovation, energy efficiency and renewable energies, the project reinforces the implementation of the European Union’s Renovation Wave.
