Description

The use of renewable energy and digital technologies in the construction sector is strongly emphasised in the relevant EU Directives and Regulations. These technologies play an important role in helping to achieve greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, to achieve a fully decarbonised building stock by 2050 and to address the energy crisis in Europe.

Given this background, the NS4nZEBs project aims to address the existing skills mismatches between current skills, characterising energy performance and those increasingly in demand and indispensable in the future, to increase the number of qualified professionals in the fields of photovoltaics, smart electrical systems, heat pumps and hydrogen technologies in buildings at all levels of building design, operation and maintenance. This will lead to an increase in the application of new energy-efficient and renewable energy technologies for the successful adoption of nearly zero-energy buildings, the scaling up of ambitious renovation interventions, the deployment of efficient heating and cooling systems based on renewables, especially heat pumps, thus contributing to eliminating the EU’s dependence on fossil fuel imports.

This objective will be achieved through the development of new training methods and updated curricula, and qualification courses for all types of professionals involved in the construction value chain (“blue collars” and “white collars”).

All relevant stakeholders, such as authorities, companies, end-users and VET providers, are involved to work on feedback mechanisms that ensure that training programmes and curricula are relevant to the labour market and proactively integrate emerging skills. Furthermore, the number of people who will benefit from the regularly updated training developed under the project will steadily increase in the long term.

The consortium is an association of excellence, with experts (installers, engineers, architects, IT, automation, education and communications experts) from 6 countries, specifically Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Spain and Ukraine.

Ecoserveis participation

Ecoserveis will analyze the GAP within the training field and nZEB policies in order to implement a training cycle.

Objectives

The main objective of the NS4nZEBs project is to increase the number of qualified building professionals in the fields of photovoltaics, smart electricity systems, heat pumps and energy storage including small-scale applications for hydrogen production in buildings at all levels of the building design, operation and maintenance value chain. This will lead to an increased application of new energy efficient and RES technologies that can foster building capacity, stimulate investments and facilitate the implementation of policies focused on energy efficiency and small-scale renewables.
