- Barberà del Vallès Town Hall
- Unemployed people who receive specialised training
- Users of the Energy Advice Service
Description
In view of the large number of families suffering from energy poverty, the Barberà del Vallès Town Hall decided to launch a pilot test of the Energy Advice Service (SAE for its Catalan and Spanish acronym). Through this service, it defends citizens’ right to access basic supplies of electricity, water and gas.
The team consists of a coordinator and 3 energy agents, who have received specialized training from Ecoserveis. The SAE informs and advises users on their bills and contracts, defends them against supply companies and guides them in order to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Participatory workshops are also held to encourage cooperation between entities and the creation of community work networks.
Participation of Ecoserveis
Ecoserveis have been the ones in charge to design the Energy Advice Service of Barberà del Vallès, granting them all the tools and resources necessary for its functioning.
In parallel, in September, we have trained 10 energy agents, with the aim that 3 of them will work in the SAE, from October until December 31, when the pilot test finishes.
Objectives
– Build an Energy Advisory Service and provide the tools and mechanisms to operate autonomously.
