Description
Every year we organize a solidarity race in Cornellà, in which everyone from families to experienced runners can participate. The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness among citizens about the problem of energy poverty. We have done this through a creative action by which we transform the calories burned by the participants into kWh of electricity and gas consumption for families in a situation of energy poverty.
At the end of each race we quantify the kWh contributed by the participants, which the Cornellà de Llobregat City Council transforms into preventive measures against energy poverty.
In 2016 Cornellà was a finalist in the 13th edition of the Sustainable City Award, which is granted by the Fundació Fòrum Ambiental with the support of the Fira de Barcelona, thanks to this awareness project.

Participation of Ecoserveis
From Ecoserveis we have conceived the creative concept of the race, in addition to managing the project. We have also carried out workshops during the day of the event and we have been responsible for spreading the word about the event.
